Dr. Tyler Raup earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and his doctorate from Towson University. He completed his clinical fellowship at Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2018. Dr. Raup’s vast experience includes clinical training at Towson University Speech and Hearing Clinic, Baltimore City School District, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. A believer in best practices, he has extensive knowledge of the auditory system, disorders, and treatments available. Dr. Raup is a a Philly sports fan and also enjoys volunteering – raising money for cancer research and joining Starkey Hearing Foundation to bring hearing health care to communities in need.
Julie Hutto Petruzzi became CEO of Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2017, continuing the legacy of her father, who founded the practice in 1975. Leading and managing our seven locations, she prioritizes best practices and innovation to better help our patients. With hearing loss in her family, she feels there is no more fulfilling mission than improving lives through better hearing! Julie holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a master’s in international affairs and economics from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. Julie’s exceptional experience includes serving in the U.S. State Department, including a position at the National Security Council.
Friendly and easy to chat with, Maris Walker enjoys scheduling, helping resolve patients’ concerns, offering encouragement, and setting up outreach at health fairs, senior centers, and networking events. She has been a volunteer and mentor to many women in several support groups for almost 30 years. Since 2002 her passion has been her dedication to the Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation to help find a cure for childhood Alzheimer’s. Her two grown daughters and grandchildren are the lights of her life. Maris enjoys gardening, yoga, cruises, and walking.
Credentialed through the NRCCS to serve as an expert on insurance, Jennifer Schmeusser stands ready to help you with your insurance and billing questions. A lifelong Maryland resident, her favorite pastimes include eating crab with her family and playing with her boxer and miniature schnauzer. She spent 15 years designing bouquets at a flower shop and enjoys being creative through gardening and making gift baskets.
