    Julie Hutto Petruzzi became CEO of Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2017, continuing the legacy of her father, who founded the practice in 1975. Leading and managing our seven locations, she prioritizes best practices and innovation to better help our patients. With hearing loss in her family, she feels there is no more fulfilling mission than improving lives through better hearing! Julie holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a master’s in international affairs and economics from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. Julie’s exceptional experience includes serving in the U.S. State Department, including a position at the National Security Council.

    Dr. Rose Buchbinder, Au.D., earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Rush University in 2019 and her bachelor’s from the University of Florida in 2015. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Before joining Chesapeake Hearing in 2024, Dr. Buchbinder gained clinical experience in Illinois, Colorado, and Hawaii. She provides evidence-based, empathetic care, specializing in balance disorders, audiological evaluations, and hearing aid fittings. Inspired by her father’s hearing improvement from aids after a childhood misdiagnosis, she is passionate about helping others. Outside work, she enjoys hiking, camping, and improv comedy.

      Chesapeake Hearing Center is the oldest private practice audiology group in the state of Maryland, and you can be assured that each hearing care provider at our practice treats patients just as we would want to be treated.       • Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)
        Recommendations and fitting of ALDs such as personal amplifiers, FM systems, or loop systems to improve hearing in specific listening situations.
      • Auditory Rehabilitation
        Individualized programs to help individuals with hearing loss develop better communication strategies and improve listening skills.
      • Balance Assessments
        Evaluation of balance and vestibular function, including videonystagmography (VNG), electronystagmography (ENG), and posturography tests.
      • Counseling and Education
        Information and support regarding hearing loss, hearing conservation, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms for individuals and their families.
      • Custom Earplugs and Earmolds
        Creation and fitting of custom-made earplugs for hearing protection, swimming, musicians, and other specific needs. Also includes earmolds for hearing aids or in-ear monitors.
      • Hearing Aid Fitting and Repair
        Selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids to address hearing loss. This includes counseling on the proper use and maintenance of hearing aids.
      • Hearing Evaluations
        Comprehensive assessments to evaluate hearing abilities, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
      • Pediatric Audiology
        Specialized services for children, including hearing screenings, diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and educational support for parents and caregivers.
      • Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
        Assessment, counseling, and development of strategies to manage tinnitus (ringing or buzzing sound in the ears).
