Dr. Chelsea Donahue earned her doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington and her Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology and audiology from Towson University. Dr. Donahue gained clinical experience at the Indiana University Hearing Clinic, Hear Indiana, Midwest Ear Institute, and Indianapolis Public Schools. She has a special interest in cochlear implants, vestibular testing, and pediatrics. Being able to provide individuals with the ability to communicate with friends and family is one of the many things that drew Dr. Donahue to the field of audiology. When not working clinically, she enjoys teaching dance, watching Grey’s Anatomy, and playing with her dog, Jada.
Dr. Tyler Raup earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and his doctorate from Towson University. He completed his clinical fellowship at Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2018. Dr. Raup’s vast experience includes clinical training at Towson University Speech and Hearing Clinic, Baltimore City School District, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. A believer in best practices, he has extensive knowledge of the auditory system, disorders, and treatments available. Dr. Raup is a a Philly sports fan and also enjoys volunteering, raising money for cancer research, and joining Starkey Hearing Foundation to bring hearing health care to communities in need.
Dr. Kelly Brown is an audiologist dedicated to improving lives through better hearing. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology from Towson University in 2023, following a Bachelor of Arts in Russian in 2015 and a post-baccalaureate program in hearing and speech at the University of Maryland-College Park in 2019. Joining Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2024, Dr. Brown brings extensive clinical experience from various settings, including Towson University’s Institute for Well-Being and Harmony Hearing and Audiology. She focuses on comprehensive care, specializing in diagnostic testing, hearing aids, and vestibular counseling. Driven by a desire to help those with communication challenges, Dr. Brown enjoys baking, reading, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
Kristin Shaklee began her career in 2005 at an ENT office but found audiology specifically fascinating and transitioned to that part of the practice in 2012. She has worked in audiology ever since, starting with an office role and progressively working her way up. Licensed as an audiology assistant in 2022, she’s certified as otolaryngology personnel and also serves as a hearing aid coordinator. Kristin loves the challenge of cleaning and repairing hearing aids, and the joy of helping people hear better. Born and raised in Maryland, Kristin enjoys the outdoors with her husband Ross, son Charlie, and dog Lilly, often going camping, biking, fishing, and boating. She values the familial and team-oriented culture at Chesapeake Hearing Centers, where communication and teamwork are paramount.
Carol Johnson serves as a patient care coordinator in our Annapolis office. While she currently resides in Anne Arundel County, she grew up on a large farm in Caroline County, on the Eastern Shore. Carol has an associate’s degree in business from Chesapeake College. She has worked in the medical field for 25 years as a lead scheduling secretary, providing exceptional care to the community. She enjoys being a part of patients’ journeys to better hear their surroundings and their loved ones. In her time off, Carol enjoys date nights with her husband, reading, and country line-dancing with friends. Most of all, she enjoys adventures with her children and grandchildren.
Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Shelby Nelson has a keen interest in the medical side of science. She is currently pursuing a degree in biological sciences at Anne Arundel Community College, planning to transfer to the University of Maryland. Her experience in the food and retail industries has equipped her with valuable customer service skills. Having cared for a woman until she turned 100, Shelby understands the importance of enhancing quality of life- a value she aims to integrate into her future career. Growing up with a grandmother who has hearing loss has fostered her compassion for those with communication challenges. In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading, journaling, and collecting minerals and gems. She cherishes moments with her Rottweiler, three cats, bearded dragon, and spirited squirrel.
