    Dr. Groesch founded Central Illinois Hearing in 1998 and has devoted his career to helping people achieve meaningful, active lifestyles through improved communication. Dedicated to ensuring patient success, he offers the winning combination of the latest hearing aid technology along with his experienced counseling skills. Having earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida, Dr. Groesch is an Illinois licensed audiologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and a member and past president of the Illinois Academy of Audiology. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for audiology students from the University of Illinois and Illinois State University.

    Dr. Abby Wright has been a licensed audiologist for 20 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Indiana State University in 1999, followed by her Doctor of Audiology from Ball State University in 2003. She has practiced in a variety of settings including hospitals, ENT offices, and private practices. Dr. Wright has extensive experience in diagnostic audiological evaluations (including special populations); vestibular evaluations; and the fitting, modifications, and adjustments of hearing aids. Dr. Wright was raised on a farm in Manilla, Indiana, and has dedicated herself to providing quality hearing health care to the residents of central Illinois.

    Dr. Jennifer C. Edmonds, a licensed and certified audiologist, joins Central Illinois Hearing with over 20 years of experience, most recently at SIU School of Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology (2001) and a Master’s in Audiology (2003) from Illinois State University, and earned her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida in 2008. Dr. Edmonds is licensed in Illinois and certified by both the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She specializes in diagnostic audiological evaluations, vestibular assessments, cochlear implants, and hearing aids for adults. A proud Springfield resident, Dr. Edmonds is committed to serving the hearing healthcare needs of Central Illinois. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, cooking, golfing, live music, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

    Marcella Jokisch has proudly served our patients in the front office of Central Illinois Hearing for several years. She continues to be amazed by the life-changing reactions of those who receive new hearing aids, and she loves seeing the smiles and excitement as their worlds open up to sound again. She is proud to come to work every day because she admires how the practice consistently goes above and beyond, making every effort to ensure patients rediscover the sounds they’ve been missing.

        Recommendations and fitting of ALDs such as personal amplifiers, FM systems, or loop systems to improve hearing in specific listening situations.

      • Counseling and Education
        Information and support regarding hearing loss, hearing conservation, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms for individuals and their families.
      • Custom Earplugs and Earmolds
        Creation and fitting of custom-made earplugs for hearing protection, swimming, musicians, and other specific needs. Also includes earmolds for hearing aids or in-ear monitors.
      • Hearing Aid Fitting and Repair
        Selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids to address hearing loss. This includes counseling on the proper use and maintenance of hearing aids.
      • Hearing Evaluations
        Comprehensive assessments to evaluate hearing abilities, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
      • Industrial Audiology
        Workplace hearing evaluations, noise exposure assessments, and recommendations for hearing conservation programs to prevent occupational hearing loss.
