    Dr. Allison Holtz-Caspar is from Severna Park, Maryland, and is a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County. Earning her doctorate from Towson University, she joined Chesapeake Hearing Centers in 2018. Dr. Holtz-Caspar boasts experience in a variety of clinical settings with patients of all ages. Her expertise has benefited Towson University Hearing & Balance Center, Baltimore County Public Schools, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Baltimore VA Medical Center. Helping others is Dr. Holtz-Caspar’s mission. She has participated in hearing screenings with the Special Olympics and thrives on building strong relationships with patients. She enjoys reading and spending time with loved ones.

  • Mariya Hutto

    Mariya Hutto holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and earned her master’s from the University of Maryland. She has served patient needs at Chesapeake Hearing Centers since 2002. Her expertise is in guiding patients through the journey to better hearing, including evaluation, counseling and the fitting of hearing aids. She is licensed to dispense hearing aids by the state of Maryland and focuses on building relationships with the patients she sees in our Severna Park office. She has dedicated herself to her family’s privately owned, local, and trusted audiology practice, where she carries on her father’s legacy of bringing better hearing to her community.

    Kayla Lohrmann has been in the medical field for over five years and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in UMGC’s social science program. One of her favorite things is getting to know the patients. Making them feel welcome and at home in the office is something she strives to do every day. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, going camping, having bonfires, and doing other outdoor activities. Kayla also loves baking, and her house always smells like a bakery – no matter the season.

    Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Shelby Nelson has a keen interest in the medical side of science. She is currently pursuing a degree in biological sciences at Anne Arundel Community College, planning to transfer to the University of Maryland. Her experience in the food and retail industries has equipped her with valuable customer service skills. Having cared for a woman until she turned 100, Shelby understands the importance of enhancing quality of life- a value she aims to integrate into her future career. Growing up with a grandmother who has hearing loss has fostered her compassion for those with communication challenges. In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading, journaling, and collecting minerals and gems. She cherishes moments with her Rottweiler, three cats, bearded dragon, and spirited squirrel.

      • Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)
        Recommendations and fitting of ALDs such as personal amplifiers, FM systems, or loop systems to improve hearing in specific listening situations.
      • Auditory Rehabilitation
        Individualized programs to help individuals with hearing loss develop better communication strategies and improve listening skills.
      • Balance Assessments
        Evaluation of balance and vestibular function, including videonystagmography (VNG), electronystagmography (ENG), and posturography tests.
      • Counseling and Education
        Information and support regarding hearing loss, hearing conservation, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms for individuals and their families.
      • Custom Earplugs and Earmolds
        Creation and fitting of custom-made earplugs for hearing protection, swimming, musicians, and other specific needs. Also includes earmolds for hearing aids or in-ear monitors.
      • Hearing Aid Fitting and Repair
        Selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids to address hearing loss. This includes counseling on the proper use and maintenance of hearing aids.
      • Hearing Evaluations
        Comprehensive assessments to evaluate hearing abilities, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
      • Pediatric Audiology
        Specialized services for children, including hearing screenings, diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and educational support for parents and caregivers.
      • Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
        Assessment, counseling, and development of strategies to manage tinnitus (ringing or buzzing sound in the ears).
