Audiologist Dr. Robin Wielins founded Island Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers in Honolulu in 2005 and later expanded to Kauai and Kona. She serves as Clinical Director to ensure all patients receive quality care through audiology best practices. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Dr. Wielins was among the University of Florida’s first graduates of the on-campus Au.D. program in 2001. Her goal is to make others’ lives more enjoyable through hearing more easily. With no audiology program in the state, Dr. Wielins is proud to increase hearing care access in Hawaii by mentoring doctoral externs from mainland universities. Outside the clinic, she enjoys yoga, bicycling, and swimming in the ocean.
With over 10 years’ experience in audiology, Dr. Lisa Batterton is dedicated to providing exceptional hearing care for all ages at Island Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers’ Kauai clinic. Her diverse background spans private practice, ENT clinics, and educational settings, letting her tailor solutions for a wide range of hearing needs. Originally from the rural Midwest and most recently from Vancouver, WA, Dr. Batterton brings a personalized approach. She is committed to helping patients reconnect with their loved ones and community through improved hearing/communication. She is also embracing life on Kauai, exploring the island and immersing herself in its rich culture and vibrant community.
Alyssa Rabinowitz has lived on Kauai since 2021 and serves as patient care coordinator at Island Audiology & Hearing Aid Centers’ Kauai clinic. She has experience in the nonprofit sector and retail, with a strong focus on providing compassionate care and going the extra mile. Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and volunteers as a crisis hotline counselor. She strives to make everyone who walks into the office feel at home. She wants them to know that they have a team here on Kauai that they can rely on to care about them as individuals, not just as patients. She loves trying new food and watching local wildlife.

Reconnect with everything you’ve been missing. The Guided Hearing Experience is the first step to understanding whether you may have hearing loss, and is a helpful way to prepare for a full evaluation with a certified provider.

Untreated hearing loss can slowly affect more than communication. It can increase the risk of isolation, impact mood, and contribute to cognitive decline over time. The good news is that taking the first step toward understanding your hearing is simple and empowering.

Hearing is complex, and an online screener only tells part of the story. HearingLoss.com–certified professionals provide the highest level of clinical and patient care to give you a complete and meaningful understanding of your hearing.
